  3. Clear your workspace from all materials except those allowed.

  6. Memorize your OMPT login details, as you will need them to start your exam.

Connecting to ProctorU

This process will likely take between 5 to 10 minutes unless you experience technical difficulties (be sure to test your equipment before test day to minimize the chance you’ll have technical issues), in which case we can assist you with fixing your equipment. This time is not subtracted from your exam time.

  1. Log in: Log in to your OMPT and follow ‘Go to ProctorU’ in your Exam info & access class 15 minutes before your scheduled appointment. Click on your active exam appointment to start the session.
  2. System check: We will run a short system check to make sure your webcam, microphone, operating system, browser, and internet speed meet the requirements.
  3. Pre-exam procedure: Follow a series of automated instructions. These will include taking pictures of yourself and your ID, etc. Don’t worry if something is unclear; your proctor will assist you as soon as you complete these steps.
  4. Connect to Proctor: Once you complete automated checks, your proctor will connect with you and guide you verbally and via chat.
  5. Rules Confirmation: Your proctor will confirm that you passed your identity verification steps. You’ll review the exam rules with your proctor, and they’ll ask you to show any permitted resources that OMPT allows you to use during your exam.
  6. Exam Activation: Once all checks are completed, your proctor will activate your exam.
  7. Take Your Exam: Read the exam instructions and click on the start button when you’re ready. If you have any issues or questions during the exam, you can ask the proctor via chat box. Proctor will not be able to answer any questions related to exam content; however, they can assist with the process.

Disconnection: In the event of disconnection, you can simply navigate to the exam overview page and click on the ' Reconnect with ProctorU' button. Please do not click on this button if you are connected to your proctor. You may be signed out from the session. Therefore, you may need to close the tab, log back into your OMPT profile, and click on the 'Reconnect with ProctorU' button there.

Note:
Your webcam view and your screen will be recorded through the duration of your exam.

Steps to take when you’ve completed your exam:

  1. Alert the proctor when finished BEFORE submitting: Prior to submitting your exam, let your proctor know through the chat box that you’re finished. They will oversee the submission process. You will also be required to erase the notes and tear up any scrap paper that was used during the exam.
  2. Log out of your exam site and close the browser: After reviewing your results, your proctor must observe you log out of the exam website and close the Guardian browser. This will end your session with ProctorU.
  3. Done: You’re done! Enjoy your day!
