Connecting to Examity

This process will likely take between 5 to 10 minutes unless you experience technical difficulties (be sure to test your equipment before test day to minimize the chance you’ll have technical issues), in which case we can assist you with fixing your equipment. This time is not subtracted from your exam time.

  1. Log in: Log in to OMPT and go to Examity 5 -10 minutes before your scheduled appointment and click on Connect to Proctor once the button colour changes to orange.
  2. System check: We will run a short system check to make sure your webcam, microphone, operating system, browser, and internet speed are up to the requirements.
  3. Add Examity extension: Click add extension to add Examity extension to your Chrome browser. If you see a puzzle piece in your top right corner, click on it and pin the Examity icon.
  4. Connect to Proctor: You will be asked to share your screen and the proctor will guide you through the authentication process, which will include showing a valid ID, 360-degree room pan, challenge question and digital signature.
  5. Rules Confirmation: Your proctor will greet you and confirm that you passed your identity verification steps. You’ll review the exam rules with your proctor and they’ll ask to see any permitted resources that OMPT allows you to use during your exam.
  6. Navigating to the Exam & Password Entry: Your proctor will navigate you to the exam site. You will need to click on the 'Insert your password' and then on the Start button in order to start the exam. Your proctor will guide you throughout this process.
  7. Take Your Exam: Read the exam instructions and begin your exam when you’re ready. If you have any issues or questions during the exam, you can ask the proctor via chat box.

Disconnection: In the event of disconnection you can simply navigate to the exam overview page and click on the ' Reconnect with Examity' button. Please do not click on this button if you are connected to your proctor. You may be signed out from the session, therefore you may need to close the tab and log back into your OMPT profile and click on the 'Reconnect with Examity' button there.

Note:
Your webcam view and your screen will be recorded through the duration of your exam.

Steps to take when you’ve completed your exam:

  1. Alert the proctor when finished BEFORE submitting: Prior to submitting your exam, let your proctor know through the chat box that you’re finished. They will oversee the submission process. You will also be required to tear up any scratch paper that was used during the exam.
  2. Log out of your exam site and browser: After reviewing your results, your proctor must observe you log out of the exam website and close out of all browser tabs.
  3. Close out of Examity chat box: This will end your session with Examity. Once the chat box closes, you’ll be invited to complete an Examity customer satisfaction survey.
  4. Done: You’re done! Enjoy your day!
